We were born alongside the rivers, among fishermen who know the rhythm of the water and consumers who seek authenticity with discernment. Karapau exists to unite fishermen and consumers through a direct, demanding, and transparent relationship — where each product is selected, prepared, packaged, and labeled with method, consistency, and respect.


In 2015, the Karapau Project was born; in 2020, the mission became a brand. In 2021, we created our flagship product, Lamprey in Marinade, and we are proud to have been the first company to package, label, and distribute this format, elevating the way a Portuguese delicacy is presented and delivered to the customer.


In 2025, we opened a new chapter with elvers: Karapau became the first company to market processed elvers in a traceable, certified, and legal manner, reinforcing our commitment to transparency, control, and credibility.


Sustainability is part of our identity: operating responsibly, protecting resource continuity, and elevating practices. And knowledge is a pillar of the brand—because an excellent product is also built on literacy, clarity, and trust.
